Privacy Policy

The First National Bank of Chillicothe and its Board of Directors realize the trust that customers have in the Bank. In part, that trust stems from the safekeeping of information that the Bank has about its customers. The First National Bank of Chillicothe will continue to maintain that trust by safeguarding customer information it has in its possession any way possible. To that end, the Board of Directors has adopted this Privacy Policy Statement with regard to our customer’s nonpublic information.

Privacy Statement

Protecting customer privacy is important to The First National Bank of Chillicothe and our employees. We want our customers to understand what information we collect and how we use it. In order to provide our customers with a broad range of financial products and services as effectively and conveniently as possible, we use technology to manage and maintain customer information. The following policy serves as a standard for all First National Bank employees for collection, use, retention, and security of nonpublic personal information.

What Information We Collect

We may collect “nonpublic personal information” about our customers from the following sources:
 

Information we receive from the customer on applications or other loan and account forms;
 
Information about customer transactions with us or others; and
 
Information we receive from third parties such as credit bureaus.

“Nonpublic personal information” is nonpublic information about customers that we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or service to the customer. For example, nonpublic personal information includes information regarding account balances, payment history, and overdraft history.

What Information We Disclose

We are permitted under law to disclose nonpublic personal information about our customers to other third parties in certain circumstances. For example, we may disclose nonpublic personal information to third parties to assist us in servicing a loan or account with us, to government entities in response to subpoenas, and to credit bureaus.
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about anyone, except as permitted by law.

When a customer decides to close an account(s) or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to the privacy policies and practices described in this notice.

Our Security Procedures

We take steps to safeguard customer information. We restrict access to personal and account information to those employees who need to know this information in order to provide products or services to our customers. Employees who violate these standards will be subject to disciplinary measures. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard nonpublic personal information.
 

Use collection and Retention of Customer Information
The First National Bank of Chillicothe may collect, retain, and use personal information about customers (for example, we may obtain a credit report for a loan or for employment purposes), but only as we believe it would be reasonably useful in administering our business and to provide products, services and other opportunities to customers.
 
Maintenance of Accurate Information
The First National Bank of Chillicothe exercises reasonable procedures in order to ensure that a customer’s financial information is accurate, current and complete in accordance with reasonable commercial standards. Inaccurate information, when brought to our attention, is corrected as promptly as possible.
 
Employee Access to Information and Enforcement
All employees of The First National Bank of Chillicothe are educated on the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy. They are thoroughly trained to learn and follow our Privacy Policy. The First National Bank of Chillicothe will take appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce employee privacy responsibilities.
 
Protection of Information
The First National Bank of Chillicothe will maintain appropriate security standards and procedures to prevent unauthorized access to customer information.
 
Restrictions on the Disclosure of Account Information
The First National Bank of Chillicothe will not reveal specific information about current or past customer accounts or other personally identifiable data to third parties for their independent use unless:
 
The information is provided with customer authorization to help complete a customer initiated transaction;
 
The customer requests it, either personally or in writing;
 
The disclosure is required by or allowed by law (i.e. subpoena, investigation of fraudulent activity, etc.).
 
Disclosing our Privacy Commitment to Our Customers
We want our customers to understand our commitment to privacy issues and our use of confidential customer information. Privacy disclosures are mailed annually to all customers as a part of the monthly statement cycles that include the quarter ending March 31st. Customers who have no deposit relationships will be mailed a disclosure during this time as well.
